Three Years at the National Cherry Festival — and We're Just Getting Started

Kchi Wiikwedong Anishinaabek PowWow at the National Cherry Festival, Traverse City MI, July 7 2026

This year's Kchi Wiikwedong Anishinaabek PowWow at the Bayside Music Stage in Traverse City was one for the books — and not just because of the beautiful dancing, the drum, and the energy of our community coming together.

This was our third year vending at the National Cherry Festival, and this year we reached a milestone we've been working toward: getting Sacred Sister's Sanctuary onto an online platform so our handcrafted pieces can reach people far beyond Northern Michigan.

I am so incredibly proud of my crew. Their hard work, dedication, and genuine care for every single customer they served made this event something truly special. The motivation, the pride, the love they pour into everything they do — it shows. And it matters.

We are so excited to see where this new endeavor takes us. The journey of bringing our art, our culture, and our bond to the world is just beginning, and we couldn't be more grateful for the support that has carried us here.

Chi miigwetch — thank you from the bottom of our hearts — for all of the love, encouragement, and support. We appreciate every single one of you. 🍒🖤
